On behalf of the men and women of the Police Department, welcome to our website. It represents another facet of the Norwich Police Department's commitment to communicate and partner with the public we serve. In our attempts to solve the problems of crime and disorder, we must practice the basic principles of policing and continually fostering a trusting partnership between the police and the community. This website is part of our desire to bring the Police Department to the residents, and continue to be in touch with them, in that way removing the "mystique" of policing by opening our "doors" and inviting the public "inside". The Norwich Police Department, is approaching its 150th anniversary. Our men and women have made outstanding achievements over the past nearly century and one-half through hard work and dedication to our citizens. We have formed many community partnerships, fostering greater effectiveness while actually minimizing the incidence of crime and disorder in our City.
