Patrol Division

The uniform Patrol Division is considered the heart of the Department, as it provides the primary police functions. The Patrol Division is the largest organizational unit in the Department and all other organizational units relate to it in a supportive capacity. The Patrol Division is commanded by the Captain and has approximately 85 percent of our complement of sworn officers assigned to it, including Lieutenants and ,Sergeants, Officers First Class and part-time Supernumerary Relief Police Officers. The patrol Division is responsible for patrolling
approximately 223 miles of highways, streets and alleys in a nearly 30 square
mile area that comprises our city. It provides service, protection and
